Ambient Music Generator is a simple desktop app that helps you generate and play musical MIDI sequences — instantly.

Built for producers, composers, and sound designers who want to explore harmony, texture, and motion without getting lost in complexity.

🌱 Why It Exists

I wanted a quick way to sketch musical ideas — chords, notes, and evolving patterns I could later shape in my DAW.

Everything I tried was either too complicated, too random, or just not inspiring.

So I built something different.
Not “AI.” Not another “smart” sequencer.
Just a musical idea generator — random enough to surprise you, but structured enough to sound good.

Originally, it simply created MIDI files you could drop into any DAW.
Now, it goes further: you can use it as a live companion that generates sequences in real time and sends them directly through a MIDI channel.

Your ideas don’t just appear — they move, evolve, and play along with you.

Set a few simple parameters and let the generator do the rest:

🎵 Notes & Scales — Choose your harmonic palette or mood.
🎚️ Octaves — Define how deep or bright it plays.
🎹 Chords or Single Notes — Pick your building blocks.
⏱️ Tempo & Time Signature — Control the pulse.
🔁 Length & Rhythm — Shape the duration and movement.
🌬️ Gaps & Silence — Add breathing space for a natural flow.

Then click Play or Generate.

• Instantly hear the sequence play in real time through your MIDI channel.
• Or export it as a standard .mid file to develop later in your DAW.

On Windows, you can use loopMIDI to create a virtual port — it’s free and easy to set up:

On macOS, AMG automatically creates one called “AMG.”
